We have added a kitten to our clowder as of August 2, 2026, and her name is Sapphire. Before you ask: this means we now have four cats, three in the main house and one in my office over the garage. Yes that is a lot of cats. No, I didn’t really want to have more cats. Yes, Irene begged and cajoled me for days.
That all being said, the little Siamese-like kitten (she’s about 7 months old) has moved in with our two boys quite well. There was a little bit of hissing from Magpie (Pie), but Corbie was and is absolutely fascinated by Sapphire which means she means she has a big and somewhat less graceful playmate.
Sapphire herself is extremely confident and outgoing and has worked tirelessly to win over Pie and has largely been successful. She also gets along reasonably well with our dog, Finn– but Finn knows his place in the human-cat dominated household. All three cats come up on the bed now, they eat together, and the house is generally pretty calm despite having a kitten in it. The only fly in the ointment at the moment is the presence of a foster cat in our basement guest room. The houseguest, Charlie, e is given some access privileges to the main house and when this happens there is often some hissing and growling- not at the kitten thankfully, but it does add stress to the household.
Now on to what you were waiting for: some pictures.

Lovely cats. Is Sapphire an actual Siamese? I’ve never had one but I’ve always heard they behave quite differently from other breeds. If so, that alone would make it worth adding the fourth cat.
Thank you on Sapphire’s behalf for the kind words. Sapphi is not pure-bred: we adopted her from the local SPCA. Supposedly her mother is purebred, but the sire was a “travelling salesman”. The whole litter was “siamese-like”, though: creamy white with points, some were seal-point like Sapphire, and some were tabby-point.
We’ve had two purebred siamese in the past, and the ones we had definitely had unique but different personalities. The main thing Siamese are known for is their talkativeness- so far Sapphire has been fairly quiet on that front.
