Well, that particular example, at 950 pounds, is arguably overpriced. I am fairly sure I can buy a clock like that in somewhat rough but complete shape for $200-$300. A professional restoration would be $250 to $500 or thereabouts: note that a lot depends on how “collectable” the clock is, and some really are worth thousands and thousands of dollars.

Now that I know what your Mom likes, I’ll keep an eye open- no promises, but I might find something one day that I can restore.
