I got her a fakey clock (nice wood case, el cheapo battery clock mechanism)for Christmas a couple years ago that she likes well enough simply because $2K+ for a mechanical movement is … too too much.

Bad enough paying a few hundred for a wooden case with a $40 clock in it.
