Another great Garrett book- if you liked the rest of the series, you’ll find much to enjoy in this book as well.
I enjoy how the stories link together without demanding that you have read the previous books. The past books themselves form a historical base for each new story: intriguing, but not critical to the current plot. I am also always interested to see how the 3 generation old war in the Cantard progresses with each new episode in Garrett’s life. Characters you never meet, like Glory Mooncalled the brilliant (or at least smarter than the rest) general who has radically altered the dynamics of a war that has no direct relation to the story somehow *make* the story. It is an interesting story telling effect, and one I appreciate.
